relative costs, the Boston Law Collaborative analyzed 199

divorce cases, all prior to 2008, and arrived at the following

median costs:

FULL-SCALE LITIGATION $77,746

SETTLEMENTS, NEGOTIATED BY

RIVAL LAWYERS $26,830

COLLABORATIVE DIVORCE $19,723

MEDIATION $6,600

This information was provided by David Crary of the

Associated Press in a 2007 article. The total costs and comparitive

ratios would certainly vary widely in other types of cases, and studies.
